This year, Pixl8 is a partner of a newer organisation for membership professionals - Membership World. It’s founder and CEO is Gordon Glenister - who we talked to about their plans for 2023.
What’s the idea behind Membership World?
It’s a close-knit community in which senior leaders of UK membership organisations can exchange ideas, tackle challenges and explore opportunities both in-person and on-line.
We’re supported by our carefully selected and vetted partners like Pixl8, who help with our activities and attend our events.
What do members get?
Any membership professional can join our free online community and access our platform, where they can talk to peers and take part in special interest groups. We really take things to the next level though with our in-person CEO Roundtables and workshops - a key benefit of paid membership.
What events are coming up?
Our next CEO Roundtable is very soon! It’s on Tuesday 14th March in Birmingham and is titled “Never mind AI, what about 50+ workers?“. We’re also looking forward to running an event with Pixl8 this year on another topic important to the membership industry.
There are other organisations serving the association and membership sector, what makes Membership World different?
As someone who has run a trade association for 11 years and founded two others I think I bring unique insight into the sector from a senior exec perspective. My vision is one of a mutually beneficial service that supports membership organisations and suppliers.
It’s a forum where leaders can come together to address our industry’s biggest challenges and opportunities. For example, how can we leverage members to recruit young people and drive greater engagement on social media? There’s untapped potential to drive success!
Why should organisations join Membership World?
I really believe that we’re giving membership professionals a unique opportunity to connect, learn and network in a relaxed setting online and in-person. Also, with paid membership, small organisations (under 50 staff) get five passes, and medium to large, ten. With all events included, plus a free membership proposition audit, podcasts, and an online directory coming soon - that’s great member value!
