When a member starts booking an event but gets distracted before paying, it’s rarely because they’ve lost interest. More often a meeting or a busy inbox got in the way and they simply didn’t make it back. For the team running the event, that unfinished booking can mean lost revenue and, where capacity is limited, a place held for someone who may never complete it.
In this session, Emma shows you how to use ReadyMembership’s event tools to find those half-finished bookings, bring people back to complete them, and give your events a gentle push while members are browsing your calendar. She’ll switch between short explanations and live demos in the platform, so you’ll see how each feature works and how to set it up yourself.
What Emma will cover
- Pending bookings: what they are, and why a booking that hasn’t been paid for yet is still an active lead you can recover
- Expiry and grace period settings: how long to hold someone’s place, set globally or per event, and how to build in extra time so nobody gets timed out partway through paying
- Booking reminder emails: setting up automated reminders for bookings that are about to expire, and getting the tone right so they come across as a helpful nudge rather than pushy
- The pending booking email widget: showing each recipient their own outstanding bookings in an email
- Event nudges: adding tags such as “last remaining tickets” or “booking closes in 1 week” to event tiles, so people see them while they’re browsing your calendar
Who it’s for
This session is for anyone who plans, markets or manages events in ReadyMembership. It will be particularly useful if you run paid or limited-capacity events, or if you suspect more people start bookings than finish them.
Bring your own ideas
The last half hour is for questions and conversation. We’d love to hear what’s worked for you when promoting events, what you’ve learned to avoid, and any clever ways you’ve used the platform to fill places. Some of the best ideas tend to come from other people in the room.
Good to know
Pending bookings were introduced in version 2025.2, and the expiry settings and email widget followed in 2025.5. If you’re not sure which version you’re on, your account manager can tell you.
